Maria Contreras, 74, was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash in Hialeah that left a motorcyclist injured, nbcmiami.com reports.

According to authorities, Contreras was driving on West 49th Street when she turned onto West 10th Avenue and collided with a man riding a motorcycle. The impact ejected the rider, who sustained injuries to his arm and left leg.

Hialeah Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to Goodlet Park, from where he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Following the collision, Contreras did not stop to render aid and left the area. She was later located with her vehicle in Miami Gardens, where she was taken into custody. An arrest report noted that she admitted to her involvement in the crash.

Contreras faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash.
