A 35-year-old man from Rome, New York, has been charged with making a terroristic threat after calling Camden Middle School and threatening staff, cnycentral.com reports.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as James Collazo, who was upset with the school district over a matter concerning his child. The specific content of the threat was not disclosed by the sheriff's office.

The call prompted the school to enter a "lockout" — a security measure preventing anyone from entering or leaving the building — on Friday. A lockout is less severe than a full lockdown, which requires occupants to shelter in place.

A deputy stationed at the school was notified of the threat and initiated the law enforcement response. Collazo was located at his home in Rome and taken into custody without incident.

The lockout was lifted at approximately 12:40 p.m. Friday. The school district also addressed the situation on its official Facebook page.

Collazo was being held pending arraignment at CAP Court as of Friday afternoon, facing a felony count of making a terroristic threat.
