Kingston Man Charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny After Two September Incidents

Jason Wands, 42, was arrested on Sept. 22 after allegedly stealing tools and cash in two separate incidents in Kingston, NY. He faces four felony charges.

Kingston Resident Held in Ulster County Jail on Four Felony Counts

A 42-year-old Kingston man was arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a pair of thefts in the city earlier this month, dailyfreeman.com reports.

Jason A. Wands, of Kingston, faces charges of burglary, grand larceny, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of stolen property.

According to police, Wands entered a vehicle parked at Kingston Plaza at around 4 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2026, taking tools valued at more than $3,000. Roughly an hour later, at approximately 4:55 a.m., he allegedly smashed windows at a business on Hurley Avenue, forced his way inside, and made off with more than $2,000 in cash.

Kingston Police located and arrested Wands around midnight on Sept. 22 following an investigation. He was processed and brought before Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part Court the same morning.

Wands is currently being held at Ulster County Jail.
