A Marshall County jury found Christopher Bridenthal, 37, guilty of second-degree murder on September 23, 2026, recommending a life sentence for the killing of 42-year-old Donald Cole, okcfox.com reports.

Deputies responding to a shooting call on June 28, 2025, discovered Cole at a residence near Texoma Christian Camp Road in Kingston with a gunshot wound to the head. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), which took over the case.

OSBI investigators identified Bridenthal as the suspect and determined he had shot Cole. Bridenthal was arrested the same day — June 28, 2025 — on a charge of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and booked into Marshall County Jail.

A second-degree murder charge followed on November 10, 2025. At trial, the jury recommended life in prison for the murder conviction alongside the maximum 10-year sentence for the firearms charge, according to OSBI.
