The sedan lost a wheel near Mannheim Road, but the driver continued to flee despite the damage. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on a residential street, where officers immediately took the driver into custody in suburban Westchester.

Preliminary information indicates the chase began when police in suburban Berkeley attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver refused to comply, prompting the pursuit.
