Shootout in San Bernardino: suspect wounded after firing at officers

Two shooting victims were found outside a San Bernardino home Wednesday; the suspect inside opened fire on responding officers and was wounded.

Two people were found suffering from gunshot wounds in the yard of a single-story home near the intersection of Coulston and Richardson streets in San Bernardino on Wednesday morning, abc7.com reports.

Officers from the San Bernardino Police Department responded at 8:45 a.m. to a call about a domestic incident and a gunshot victim at the property, located just north of the 10 Freeway, a department spokesperson said.

Upon entering the residence, officers encountered the suspect, who immediately opened fire on them. The suspect was struck during the exchange of gunfire, according to police.

All three individuals — the suspect and both victims — were transported to hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known. The suspect has not been identified.
