Stabbing at Westchester Community College Leaves Victims Injured, Two Suspects Held

Three people were stabbed Wednesday at Westchester Community College's Valhalla campus; two suspects were taken into custody, county police said.

Three people were stabbed Wednesday afternoon at Westchester Community College's suburban Valhalla campus, with two suspects taken into custody shortly after, NY Post Metro reports.

Westchester County Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 12:40 p.m. following reports of multiple people injured. Officers recovered a knife at the scene.

The victims were transported to Westchester Medical Center. One was listed in serious condition and may require surgery, according to police.

Both suspects were taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital in Tarrytown with undisclosed injuries. Charges are pending against them.

Authorities have not identified any of the individuals involved or disclosed what triggered the altercation. The identities of the students have been withheld.

"The full circumstances of the incident are under investigation by the Westchester County Police patrol officers and detectives," the department said in a statement. "No other suspects are being sought and there is no continuing threat to the college community."

College officials said in an email that county police are leading the investigation "with the full cooperation and support" of the school.

"Our top priority is ensuring a safe and welcoming campus environment for our students, faculty and staff," the college's statement read. "There was an incident on campus that has been resolved."

Westchester Community College, founded 80 years ago, is part of the State University of New York system and enrolls approximately 9,700 students.
