Two Syracuse men arrested on drug and weapons charges after dawn raid

New York State Police and ATF agents arrested two men at a Schiller Avenue residence in Syracuse, recovering cocaine, methadone and two loaded handguns.

Two Syracuse men were arrested on multiple felony drug and weapons charges following a joint investigation by New York State Police and federal agents, troopers.ny.gov reports.

Investigators executed a search warrant at approximately 5 a.m. on 15 May at a residence on Schiller Avenue in Syracuse, after a month-long inquiry conducted alongside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

The operation was carried out by the State Police Troop D Community Stabilization Unit, Special Operations Response Team, and Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, together with ATF agents. Both individuals inside the residence were arrested without incident.

During the search, police recovered two loaded semi-automatic handguns, ammunition, more than four ounces of cocaine, liquid methadone, suboxone films and pills, narcotics packaging materials, and a digital scale bearing cocaine residue.

Robert Jackson, 32, and Malcome Baker, 31, were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Jackson faces an additional charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree on account of a prior conviction.
