Six juveniles face 24 charges across Barbados, five remanded to Dodds

Five of six juveniles charged with 24 offences — including firearms use and robbery — were remanded to Dodds Prison. A sixth was granted $2,000 bail.

Six youths charged with 24 offences spanning four policing districts

Five of six juveniles accused of 24 criminal offences have been remanded to the Barbados Prison Service at Dodds, barbadostoday.bb reports. The sixth was granted bail of $2,000.

The charges range from the use of a firearm and robbery to aggravated burglary and the theft of a motor vehicle, spread across four policing districts.

Four of the juveniles appeared before Magistrate (ag) Jared Richards in the District 'A' Traffic Court on Thursday. The remaining two appeared before Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick the day before. All six are scheduled to return to court on October 15, 2026.

The alleged offences were recorded between April and September of this year.

In the Hastings/Worthing district, the juveniles are accused of endangering life on June 3, June 8, three times on July 4, and on July 20. Further charges include wounding with intent on July 5, aggravated burglary on June 3, and robberies on February 7, July 20, August 5, August 18, and August 31. Firearm-related charges cover incidents on June 3, June 8, July 4, and July 5, with a motor vehicle theft on August 31.

In the Central district, the allegations include a robbery on August 22, assault with intent to rob on September 6, two counts of assaulting a police officer on September 7, and resisting a police officer on the same date.

Charges in Black Rock relate to wounding with intent and use of a firearm on April 7, as well as escaping lawful custody.

A separate motor vehicle theft charge was brought in connection with an incident in District 'A' on August 31.
