Sources and verification

Every story names and links its source. We rely on official police, prosecution and court communications and on established news media. We do not add facts, names or figures that are not in the underlying reporting.

Originality

We summarise and contextualise; we do not copy. Stories are checked for textual overlap with their sources before publication, and short items that add too little are not submitted for search indexing.

Fairness and presumption of innocence

Suspects are presumed innocent until convicted. We report charges, verdicts and sentences as they stand and update stories when cases develop.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any police force, government, political party or law firm. Advertising is clearly separated from editorial content. Crimesite International (crimesite.com) is not affiliated with crimesite.nl.

Corrections

Report errors to [email protected] with the article link. Substantive errors are corrected promptly; corrected articles carry a new modification date.

Complaints, including requests concerning personal data, can be sent to the same address or via the contact page.
