Six juveniles face 24 charges across four Barbados policing districts

Five of six juveniles charged with 24 offences including firearm use and robbery have been remanded to Dodds; a sixth was granted $2,000 bail.

Six juveniles charged with 24 offences spanning Barbados

Five of six juveniles accused of 24 offences — ranging from firearm use to motor vehicle theft — have been remanded to the Barbados Prison Service at Dodds, Barbados Today reports. The sixth juvenile was granted $2,000 bail.

Four of the accused appeared before Magistrate (ag) Jared Richards in the District 'A' Traffic Court on Thursday. The remaining two had appeared before Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick the day prior. All six are scheduled to return to court on October 15, 2026.

Charges span four policing districts

The 24 charges relate to incidents recorded between April and September this year, spread across four policing districts: Hastings/Worthing, Central, Black Rock, and District 'A'.

In the Hastings/Worthing district, the juveniles are alleged to have endangered life on June 3, June 8, three times on July 4, and again on July 20. A charge of wounding with intent relates to July 5, and aggravated burglary to June 3.

Robbery charges in the same district cover incidents on February 7, July 20, August 5, August 18, and August 31. Police have further charged the group with using a firearm on June 3, June 8, July 4, and July 5, as well as the theft of a motor vehicle on August 31.

Central district and Black Rock allegations

In the Central district, the charges include a robbery on August 22 and an assault with intent to rob on September 6. Two counts of assaulting a police officer and one count of resisting a police officer were also laid, all in connection with an incident on September 7.

Charges arising from Black Rock cover wounding with intent and the use of a firearm during an incident on April 7, along with escaping lawful custody. A separate motor vehicle theft charge was brought in connection with an incident in District 'A' on August 31.
