Three Officers Testify in Barbados Illegal Firearm Trial Against City Man, 24

Ruger pistol trial opens at No. 4 Supreme Court in Bridgetown

Three police officers took the stand at the No. 4 Supreme Court on Monday in the trial of a 24-year-old Bridgetown man charged with unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition, Barbados Today reports.

Miguel Leslie Alpha Bobb-Blackman, of Spruce Street, The City, has denied carrying a Ruger .45-calibre semi-automatic pistol without a valid licence and four rounds of ammunition without a valid permit on June 12, 2025.

The nine-member jury heard evidence from PC Ricardo Connell of the Barbados Police Service Firearms Department, forensic firearm examiner Station Sergeant David Leslie, and forensic scenes-of-crime officer PC Kerry Rochester.

Acting Senior State Counsel Paul Prescod and State Counsel Tameisha Sobers are handling the prosecution. Defence attorney Shadia Simpson represents Bobb-Blackman.

Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell is presiding. The trial is set to continue on Tuesday.
