London, Ontario man charged after pointing replica gun at vehicle on Belfield Street

A 46-year-old man was arrested Monday evening after pointing a replica firearm at a passing car in London, Ontario. Police also found meth and stolen identity documents.

Ca.news.yahoo.com reports that London police arrested and charged a 46-year-old man with multiple firearms offences after a witness reported seeing a gun directed at their vehicle on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at around 5:45 p.m. on Belfield Street, between Kipps Lane and Huron Street. A caller told police they had seen a man pointing a firearm at their car. Officers located the suspect a short distance from the scene.

Inside his backpack, police found two replica firearms, one of which matched the witness's description. Officers also recovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and multiple bank cards, health cards, membership cards and a driver's licence belonging to someone other than the accused.

The man faces charges of pointing a firearm, breaching probation, possessing an imitation weapon, possession of drugs, and possession of identity documents belonging to another person.

He remains in custody and was expected to appear in court Tuesday.
