Kingston suspect charged with weapons offences after Belle Park violence

A wanted man has been arrested following two violent incidents in Kingston's Belle Park area, ctvnews.ca reports. The suspect was subject to two outstanding warrants connected to separate incidents before his arrest on September 3.

Multiple Kingston Police units conducted the search, with the Ottawa Police Service providing additional assistance during the operation.

The accused now faces charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence, and five counts of breach of probation. Police did not publicly identify the accused in a news release issued Tuesday.

Kingston Police credited victims and witnesses with playing a key role in the investigation. "Their cooperation, willingness to provide information, and ongoing support of the investigative process were instrumental in advancing the investigation and helping police bring the matter before the courts," the service said.

Police also acknowledged the role of the Ottawa Police Service in securing the outcome. "The successful arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between multiple units and agencies working together to address public safety," Kingston Police said.
