A wanted individual has been taken into custody following two separate violent incidents in Kingston's Belle Park area, kingstonist.com reports.

The suspect, whose name was not released by police, was already the subject of two outstanding warrants linked to the incidents when he was arrested on 3 September. He now faces charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence, and five counts of breach of probation.

Several Kingston Police units coordinated the search, with the Ottawa Police Service also providing assistance. Kingston Police credited the outcome to joint effort across multiple units and agencies.

In a statement, Kingston Police thanked those who came forward during the investigation. "Their cooperation, willingness to provide information, and ongoing support of the investigative process were instrumental in advancing the investigation and helping police bring the matter before the courts," the force said.

Kingston Police also acknowledged Ottawa's role, describing the arrest as "the result of a coordinated effort between multiple units and agencies working together to address public safety."
