Camila Rodríguez, the young woman from Paysandú searched for since Friday, appears in Argentina

Camila Ayelén Rodríguez Carballo, the 15-year-old teenager who went missing in Paysandú, was found alive in Argentina, the Ministry of the Interior reported this Sunday. According to montevideo.com.uy, authorities confirmed that the young woman is "in good condition".

In connection with the case, a 37-year-old man of Argentine nationality was detained in the neighbouring country. The Ministry of the Interior did not provide details about the circumstances of the detention.

The search was carried out in close coordination between police forces from Uruguay and Argentina from the start of the alert. On Saturday, Uruguayan authorities had activated an Amber Alert to locate the missing minor. Hours later, at the request of the Ministry of the Interior, Argentina issued a Sofia Alert, a mechanism designed to search for missing children and adolescents in high-risk situations.

International cooperation included the participation of Argentine federal forces, Interpol Buenos Aires and the Entre Ríos Police, given the geographical proximity of Paysandú to the border between the two countries.

The exact circumstances in which the teenager was found have not been revealed by authorities at this time.
