Bricklayer arrested in Castelar following accusations of homicide and child sexual abuse

According to infobae.com, detectives from the Homicide division of the City Police arrested Cristhian Gabriel Colman Colman, a 31-year-old bricklayer born in Paraguay, last week whilst working on a building site in the Castelar area. The operation was recorded on video: officers rushed at him shouting to subdue him whilst one of them filmed the sequence.

Colman Colman was being sought on two counts. The first: the homicide of Ricardo de Jesús Colman Ramírez, with no family relation to the accused, which occurred on 30 August 2025 in front of a hardware store in Villa Zavaleta, in the Barracas area. According to the charge, he shot him in the back of the neck following a fight during a shared barbecue and fled on foot through an alleyway in the settlement. A security camera recorded the moment of the shooting. The weapon was never found.

The second count is equally serious: the sexual abuse of a twelve-year-old child from his immediate environment, committed whilst the accused was in charge of the minor and his siblings. One of the incidents allegedly took place in a home in the Villa Madero area.

Judge José Guerrero, new head of Criminal Instruction Court No. 1, took over the case following his appointment and formally charged Colman Colman with preventive detention. He also ordered the seizure of 51 million pesos. Evidence gathered includes videos of the crime, telephone intercepts, testimonies from people who attended the barbecue that night and telephone records. For the sexual abuse charge, the statement of the child's father and a report from the Medical Examiner's Office proved decisive.

The account given by the minor was considered credible by six official psychologists who assisted him. In their report, included in Judge Guerrero's formal charging decision, they stated that "during the account, the young man showed signs of genuine distress consistent with having experienced a traumatic event, maintaining coherence in the exposition of the situations he suffered".

Colman Colman chose to speak before the magistrate during his questioning. "I'm going to make a statement. With regard to the alleged act (the sexual abuse), what they are saying is a lie. On the other hand, with regard to the homicide, I want to say that it was unintentional, it was without intent. The owner of the premises was there with me. I'm not going to answer questions," he stated.
