Teenager murdered in San Juan: 200 young people at the party and the killer remains unidentified

According to diariodecuyo.com.ar, Uriel Ríos, a 17-year-old student in the fifth year at Colegio Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús in Rawson, died after receiving a stab wound as he left a celebration for Student Day. The San Juan judiciary has not yet managed to identify the perpetrator of the attack.
Prosecutor Roberto Ginsberg, who is leading the investigation, stated that the assault occurred at around 5:15 in the morning, following an argument and a fight in the vicinity of the location where the celebration was taking place. The attack took place on the asphalt of Alfonso XIII street, between street 13 and street 14, opposite a property where the celebration was being held. According to information gathered, the attacker or attackers are believed to have escaped in a motor vehicle.
Uriel was urgently transported to Rawson Hospital, where he was admitted at around 7:30 with a knife embedded in his chest. Despite receiving medical attention, he died due to the severity of the wound. His twin brother, who was also attacked during the same incident, is stable and out of danger.
200 people present and no direct witnesses
The main obstacle for investigators is the absence of an eyewitness who can directly point to the person responsible. Around 200 people attended the celebration, mostly students from Colegio Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús, but to date no one who was present at the scene has directly identified the attacker.
One of the main theories being considered by investigators is that the perpetrator of the attack was part of the group of attendees at the student celebration, given that the property is located in a remote area and the assault occurred immediately after the fight broke out.
It has not yet been established whether the suspect is a minor or an adult. Should it be determined that the person is a minor, the case will need to continue with the intervention of the competent judge in accordance with the Juvenile Criminal Code.
Analysis of videos and key testimony expected
The San Juan Police are working with audiovisual records already incorporated into the case. Investigators are seeking to reconstruct the moments before and after the attack, identify those who participated in the fight, and determine who was with Uriel before he received the stab wound.
This is coupled with analysis of the knife recovered at the scene, which has been placed under chain of custody and will be submitted for the appropriate forensic examination.
In the coming hours, a statement is expected from a person directly involved in the incident, although not the actual perpetrator of the crime. Investigators believe that his testimony will be key to identifying the killer and advancing the case.
