Charged in Guido Rippel killing: one gave a statement and the other remained silent
According to canal12misiones.com, Luciano Reinaldo, 19, and Damián C., 22, were formally charged with aggravated homicide before judge Fernando Verón, head of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Posadas, on Monday, 12 October. Both young men will remain detained at Misiones Police facilities whilst the investigation proceeds.
During the examination hearing, Damián C.—the first person arrested in the case—decided to break his silence and offer his version of events. Luciano Reinaldo, by contrast, chose not to give a statement after appointing a defence lawyer.
The victim, Guido Rippel, 20, was found dead inside a burnt-out car on a property in Potrero Barrero, in Posadas. Forensic examinations conducted on the body determined that he received between three and four gunshot wounds to the head, neck and chest, which confirms the hypothesis of an execution prior to the vehicle being set alight.
Arrest in Puerto Rico after escape attempt
The detention of Luciano Reinaldo took place in the town of Puerto Rico. According to sources familiar with the investigation, the young man was attempting to cross the provincial border through clandestine passages to the outside. Facing sustained pressure from security operations deployed by law enforcement, he finally turned himself in at the First Police Station in that municipality.
With the charges formally filed and both suspects in custody, the provincial judiciary continues with the analysis of seized items and digital evidence material to complete the reconstruction of the case.
