Lotocki to testify in court over Cristian Zárate's death in cosmetic surgery

Cosmetic surgeon Aníbal Lotocki will give testimony this Wednesday before the Oral Court in Criminal and Correctional Matters No. 17 of Buenos Aires city, in the framework of the trial for the alleged simple homicide with eventual intent of Cristian Zárate. This was reported by cadena3.com, citing sources from the Argentine News Agency linked to the case.
Zárate died on 15 April 2021, aged 50, during a cosmetic procedure carried out at a private clinic in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Caballito. Lotocki will answer questions from all parties involved in the proceedings.
According to sources from the investigation, the defendant will limit his testimony exclusively to facts related to the Zárate case. His statement will come after five complainants present testimony to the court regarding serious injuries that they also attribute to the surgeon.
Six defendants in total
Along with Lotocki, the trial involves four other healthcare professionals: plastic surgery specialist Daniel Enrique Zambrano García, anaesthesiologist Santiago Luis Olguín and plastic surgeon Polansky Peláez Hoyos. These three, together with Andrea Isabel Torelli—accountant and director of the Centro Médico Conde—are considered jointly responsible for Zárate's homicide.
The sixth defendant is Florencia Krzeczek, who is alleged to have hidden Lotocki's mobile phone in order to obstruct the work of investigators.
