A botched motorised robbery ended with the arrest of a minor on Thursday on the Buenos Aires-La Plata motorway, according to eldia.com. The incident occurred at kilometre 17, on the northbound section of the road, where a senior non-commissioned officer of the Argentine Federal Police was attacked whilst standing beside his vehicle.

The victim was at the side of his Toyota Etios Corolla in the parking area when three people on an MT 650 motorcycle approached him violently. Wielding a firearm, the robbers attempted to steal the vehicle. The officer sustained a minor head injury; the attackers ultimately fled with the car's ignition key.

Highway Police units from Hudson and motorised officers patrolling the area spotted the crime. Following a brief chase, they managed to intercept one of the suspects, identified only by the initials J. A., as he is a minor.

At the time of apprehension, officers confiscated a Smith & Wesson revolver calibre .32 with serial number 356345. Moreover, official records confirmed that the motorcycle used had an active seizure order since 14 October 2026.

The case was handed to the Juvenile Criminal Responsibility Prosecution No. 1 and the Juvenile Court, both based in the Quilmes judicial department. The charges include robbery aggravated by use of a firearm in an urban area and committed as a gang, illegal possession of a civilian-use firearm, and assault.
