According to lapostadesanluis.com.ar, officers from the Federal Investigation Department (DFI) of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) detained in San Luis province a man who was a fugitive from justice for the crime of "fraud". The operation was supervised by the Ministry of National Security.
The intervention was carried out by personnel from the Federal Operational Unit Division (DUOF) San Luis and originated within the framework of a parallel case linked to the same crime. In that context, agents were carrying out investigative tasks to establish the whereabouts of a woman accused of fraudulent schemes and deception, with the corresponding judicial authorisation.
During these proceedings, through the Federal System of Police Communications (SIFCOP), the subject was identified as being wanted by the Court of Guarantees No. 1 in Azul, under the charge of judge Federico Barberena. Various intelligence tasks made it possible to establish that the man lived in the city of San Luis.
The agents immediately contacted the magistrate, who confirmed the arrest warrant was still in force and authorised the arrest. The operation was deployed discreetly in the area under investigation and concluded with the capture of the subject in a public place, on Felipe Velásquez Street at number 500.
The detainee, of Argentine nationality and 39 years old, was placed at the disposal of justice pending the corresponding legal proceedings.
