According to mpfciudad.gob.ar, the Eastern Flagrancy Unit of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the City obtained remand in custody for a defendant arrested in the Retiro neighbourhood with crack cocaine and fractioned cocaine in plastic wrappings.
The proceedings were initiated after officers of the City Police observed an exchange between two people. Upon searching them, one of them had the narcotics in his possession and was arrested on the spot. Auxiliary prosecutor Federico Ghisio charged him with simple possession of narcotics.
As the detainee had a criminal record, the Eastern UFLA requested remand in custody, which the Criminal Court, Misdemeanour and Petty Offences Court No. 12, presided over by Juan Manuel Neumann, granted.
The case took on additional significance when it was established that the defendant had a previous suspended sentence for robbery. The prosecution and defence agreed through abbreviated proceedings to a single three-year custodial sentence, a ruling which is awaiting judicial approval.
