Two arrested for Guido Rippel murder in Potrero Barrero
Luciano R., aged 19, identified as the alleged direct perpetrator of the homicide of Guido Néstor Adriel Rippel, presented himself at the First Police Station in Puerto Rico and was placed at the disposal of the authorities, according to noticiasdel6.com. The young man had been intensely sought since Thursday, when the first suspect, Damián C., aged 22, had already been detained.
With the capture of the second accused, both were placed at the disposal of instruction judge Fernando Luis Verón. Luciano R. will be transferred to Posadas for the corresponding proceedings.
Discovery of the burnt vehicle
The investigation began on Wednesday, 7 October, when police officers found charred human remains inside a completely burned vehicle in the Potrero Barrero area, near Posadas airport. The procedure began around 15:30, after the owner of a property alerted authorities to the presence of the vehicle.
Rippel, son of a retired police commissioner from the Misiones Police, had been sought since his family reported his disappearance after having no news of him since Tuesday, 6 October. The young man, aged 20, was travelling in a Volkswagen Polo Track and had stated he would meet an acquaintance on a business matter. He had not communicated since and his mobile phone remained switched off.
Reconstruction of events
The investigators' main hypothesis points to a debt as a possible motive for the crime. According to released information, Rippel is suspected to have been shot dead in a house in Chacra 129, and his body was then transported to Potrero Barrero, where the vehicle was set on fire. That sequence remains under investigation, as does the degree of involvement of each of the detained individuals.
Analysis of cameras from the Integrated 911 Operations Centre and private surveillance systems made it possible to reconstruct part of the movements linked to the case and guide the initial legal measures. During Wednesday night and Thursday morning, two searches were conducted in Posadas with judicial intervention and participation from different police departments.
Examinations and evidence
As a result of those procedures, Damián C. (22) was detained, identified as one of those involved. In the searches, items of interest to the case were seized and scientific examinations were carried out, including luminol tests and collection of samples for later analysis.
The human remains found inside the burnt vehicle were preserved for the corresponding forensic medical examinations. Although the evidence suggests they could belong to the missing young man, the identity must be confirmed through pending genetic analysis.
Police continue working on the analysis of seized items and examination results to establish the definitive responsibilities of each of those under investigation.
