According to argentina.gob.ar, a 53-year-old Uruguayan citizen was extradited to Argentina in recent hours, accused of having participated in the assault on a shop in the town of Colón, Entre Ríos.
According to the investigation, the defendant was acting as a lookout whilst his accomplices forced open the shop's lock with an angle grinder. The criminals stole approximately 20 million pesos, several US dollars that were kept in a safe, and also a CPU, before fleeing the scene.
The Court of Guarantees of Colón, headed by Judge Dante Command, requested that the Federal Police of Argentina's (PFA) Division for Investigation of Federal Fugitives and Extraditions locate the suspect once he had been identified. The federal officers issued a Red Notice for international arrest and established contact with the National Central Office (NCO) Montevideo. Through this exchange it was determined that the fugitive had multiple criminal records in Uruguay.

Following the completion of diplomatic proceedings, Uruguayan authorities granted the extradition, which was carried out via the General José Gervasio de Artigas international bridge, which connects the cities of Paysandú and Colón.
