Golden convoy case before Vienna court: proceedings initiated following complaint by former Ukrainian MP
According to Der Standard, court proceedings have been launched in Vienna in connection with the Ukrainian money transport seized during the Orbán government. The complaint was filed by a former Ukrainian parliamentary representative living in Austria.

According to reports from Google News HU — Crime (hu), court proceedings have been initiated in Vienna in the so-called golden convoy case, reported Der Standard. The proceedings were commenced based on a complaint filed by a former Ukrainian parliamentary representative living in Austria.
As is known, in March the TEK seized two armoured vans on the grounds of money laundering, which were transporting 40 million dollars, 35 million euros and 9 kilograms of gold in full compliance with regulations. The authorising party was the Ukrainian state savings bank, Oscsadbank, and the sender was the Raiffeisen bank in Vienna.
At the time, the Fidesz government suggested that the real purpose of the shipment had been to finance the Tisza Party campaign. However, the authorities, despite being aware of the proper documentation, nonetheless detained the escorts, subsequently expelled them from the country, and seized both the transported valuables and the vehicles.
Following the change of government, the vehicles were returned first, followed by the money and gold bars to the Ukrainians. During the domestic investigation, János Hajdu, the former head of the TEK who was dismissed in the interim, was also questioned. The Austrian proceedings are proceeding in parallel.
