Drug-driving and speeding: police take three drivers off the road

On the A10 near Glanegg in Grödig, a police patrol on Friday noticed a 25-year-old resident of the Flachgau region because of conspicuous driving behaviour. According to salzburg24.at, citing a police press statement from Saturday, a subsequent drug test was positive. The inspection also revealed that the man has no driving licence at all. Multiple charges were filed against him.

Also on the Western Motorway (A1), a 61-year-old resident of Innsbruck came to the attention of officers. Police stopped the man near Eugendorf – in his case too, the drug test was positive. His driving licence was temporarily confiscated, and charges will follow.

In the afternoon of the same day, officers conducted speed measurements on Hochkönigstraße (B164) in the municipality of Saalfelden in the Pinzgau region. A 24-year-old Romanian car driver was measured at 112 km/h – at an authorised speed of 50 km/h. He too had to surrender his driving licence and will be charged.
