Drug driving with child on A10: licence removed after alcohol and cannabis test
A 45-year-old drove on the Tauern motorway under the influence of alcohol and cannabis – with a six-year-old child in the car. During several roadside checks, four drivers lost their licences.
Multiple driving licence confiscations following checks on the Tauern motorway
Officers stopped a 45-year-old motorist from the Tennengau district on the A10 on Friday due to conspicuous driving behaviour. The breathalyser showed 0.6 per mille, the drug saliva test came back positive for cannabis – and a six-year-old child was sitting in the passenger seat. As krone.at reports, the man had to surrender his driving licence on the spot and was not permitted to continue driving.
Also drawing attention on the Tauern motorway was a 25-year-old Croatian driver: he was travelling at 153 km/h, that is 53 km/h over the permitted limit. His driving licence was also revoked.
Two further cannabis-impaired drivers in the city area
In the city area, police pulled two further drivers from traffic. A 25-year-old Czech and a 31-year-old Bosnian were each driving under the influence of cannabis. Both driving licences were confiscated.
In Bad Hofgastein, officers also caught a 36-year-old Slovak who was operating an e-scooter with a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille – well over the legal limit.
Minors on excessive-speed e-scooters
In Straßwalchen, officers checked two teenagers aged twelve and fourteen years. Both were riding e-scooters without helmets. One of the scooters reached 50 km/h when checked, the other 41 km/h. Charges are being filed against both.
