A burglary in Vienna's tenth district ended on Wednesday morning with an unusual arrest. An employee of a local business noticed a stranger in the premises during the closed hours. The woman crept away inconspicuously and immediately alerted the police.

Several patrol units were subsequently dispatched to the scene. After securing the building from outside, two officers entered the shop. At that moment, the suspect – a 26-year-old man from Syria – attempted to escape through a side door. He was carrying a cash register drawer with him.

However, his escape route led him directly to the officers who were securing the building from outside. The officers arrested the man. He is now being charged with burglary.
