Femicide in Graz: 23-year-old kills his brother's partner
A 24-year-old woman was killed in her flat in central Graz – allegedly by her partner's brother. She is the 18th femicide victim of the year.

A day after the violent death of a 24-year-old woman in Graz, police have released new investigative details. According to the Kurier, the brother of the woman's partner is believed to have committed the act.
According to current investigative findings, the 23-year-old suspect is said to have forcibly entered the woman's flat on Thursday midday, the Styrian State Police Directorate reported. The 24-year-old was alone in the flat at that time, which is located in the middle of Graz city centre.
An autopsy of the body was carried out on Friday on the orders of the Graz State Prosecutor's Office. Police made no statements regarding a possible murder weapon or motive. These details would not be published "currently for tactical investigative reasons," the police said. Additionally, they wished to prevent relatives from being further distressed by detailed descriptions.
The suspect refused to make a statement and was taken to Graz-Jakomini correctional facility. He is being investigated on suspicion of murder.
According to police, the 24-year-old is the 18th femicide victim in Austria this year.
