Escape on Inntal motorway ends with fall from roof
A 39-year-old Croatian man fled from a police check in Germany across the border to Tyrol, according to nachrichten.at. Kufstein police were already informed and spotted the driver on the Inntal motorway (A12) – but the man continued his flight.
Initially he attempted to head west, but turned around near Angath. At Kirchbichl (Kufstein district) he left the A12 and attempted to rejoin as a wrong-way driver, which police prevented. He then continued driving towards Kufstein, where his car finally got stuck in a field.
The 39-year-old then fled on foot and fell from a garage roof onto a meadow. According to police, he sustained injuries to his head and upper body. He was taken to Kufstein hospital.
Why the man had refused to undergo a check was initially unknown. He is being reported to the Innsbruck public prosecutor's office for criminal offences and to the Kufstein district authority for traffic violations.
