Murder charge in Graz: Ex-partner accused of strangling influencer and transporting body to Slovenia
The Graz prosecutor's office has charged a 31-year-old Slovenian with murder of his former partner. The body was allegedly transported in a suitcase to Slovenia.
Murder charge following death of Graz influencer
The Graz prosecutor's office has brought charges of murder and disturbance of the peace of the dead against a 31-year-old Slovenian, according to steiermark.orf.at. He is accused of killing his former partner – a well-known influencer in Graz – on 23 November 2025 in her flat by strangulation as well as by stabs and cuts.
Subsequently, the accused is alleged to have forced the body of the 31-year-old into a travel suitcase, transported it across the border to Slovenia, and buried it there. He has not confessed to the killing itself so far; however, he has admitted to transporting the body and burying it.
In the event of conviction, the man faces a prison sentence of ten to twenty years – life imprisonment is also possible. A trial date has not yet been set.
Proceedings against the accused's brother and stepfather have since been discontinued. The two Slovenian citizens were suspected of assisting in the transport and burial of the body; however, no evidence of punishable complicit conduct in Austria emerged. Acts committed in the southern neighbouring country fall under Slovenian jurisdiction – the prosecuting authorities there are examining whether to initiate separate criminal proceedings.
