Officers have provisionally arrested a 42-year-old man accused of brutally attacking his own son. The emergency responders found the suspect still in the shared apartment and took him into custody immediately.
According to the facts known so far, the father wanted to punish the twelve-year-old boy. The reason was reportedly that the child had violated an instruction. The adult allegedly then used a cable and a leather belt as weapons to strike the boy. Additionally, he is said to have intimidated his son with threats of death. When the older brother, aged 17, attempted to intervene, the suspect is said to have attacked him as well.
During further investigation of the case, evidence mounted that the abuse of the children may have been ongoing for a longer period spanning several years. The twelve-year-old boy subsequently showed clear signs of injury, including bruises and internal bleeding throughout the body.
The competent public prosecutor's office imposed a restraining and non-contact order against the man, as well as a temporary weapons ban. The presumption of innocence applies.
