A young man is alleged to have sexually abused a 16-year-old girl in the capital. He allegedly lured her into his car and drove her to a remote district.
Vienna: 21-year-old held in custody on suspicion of raping minor
In the capital, a 21-year-old man has been remanded in custody. He is accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl. The teenager was in the vicinity of Schwedenplatz during the night from Sunday to Monday when an unknown man approached her and lured her into his vehicle under a pretext.
The suspect allegedly drove the victim to the Donaustadt district, to Finsterbuschstraße. The assault is alleged to have occurred there. Afterwards, the man took the girl back to her residence.
Investigators were able to identify the suspected perpetrator by evaluating surveillance footage. The arrested man is a 21-year-old from Syria. Following consultation with the responsible prosecutor's office, he was arrested and transferred to a correctional facility.
