Vienna task force arrests five suspected drug dealers
Officers from the task force combating street crime in Vienna have arrested five suspects in two operations. A total of approximately 70 kilogrammes of marijuana and more than seven kilogrammes of cocaine were seized.

The Vienna task force combating street crime (EGS) has arrested a total of five persons in two separate operations. During the searches, officers found large quantities of narcotics as well as cash.
First operation in the 15th district
On 25 April at around 18:30, plainclothes detectives in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus observed a suspicious meeting. A 27-year-old man from Montenegro handed over a heavy bag to a 26-year-old Libyan. Shortly afterwards, a 27-year-old Algerian arrived. As the three were about to get into a taxi, officers intervened.
The bag contained 1.1 kilogrammes of marijuana. Investigators also found cocaine, cash and pepper spray on the Libyan. During a subsequent house search of the Montenegrin's apartment, police found a further 68.9 kilogrammes of marijuana as well as 3,000 euros in cash.
Second operation at Kardinal-Nagl-Platz
On 10 May at around 18:15, detectives at the Kardinal-Nagl-Platz U-Bahn station in the 3rd district observed a 49-year-old Serb handing a bag to a 28-year-old countryman. Officers immediately intervened and found 152 grammes of cocaine and cash inside.
During further apartment searches, an additional 6.7 kilogrammes of cocaine came to light. Notably, break-in marks were found on the door of one of the apartments. Unknown persons had apparently attempted to seize the narcotics before police could. This incident is now being investigated separately.
On the orders of the Vienna state prosecutor's office, all five suspects were remanded in custody.
