Unknown individuals broke into a cycle shop in Mellau in the Bregenzerwald during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Following the theft, police officers arrested two occupants of a suspicious vehicle at a checkpoint. However, two other men managed to escape on foot and are currently being sought.
Officers stopped the suspicious vehicle after the break-in. According to investigators, the arrested individuals are believed to be foreign offenders. Detailed descriptions of the fleeing suspects are not yet available to the authorities.
The state criminal police office is now conducting further investigations. Police are searching the entire Mellau area and surrounding region for the two escaped men.
