In a residential area of Vienna's 15th district, Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, the task force for combating street crime disrupted the activities of two alleged dealers on Thursday. Shortly after eleven o'clock in the morning, investigators were able to stop both men and take them into custody.
The suspects are a 43-year-old man with Austrian citizenship and a 56-year-old national of the West African country Liberia. During subsequent searches of their persons and the apartment of one of the two, investigators found a large quantity of narcotics and money. Specifically, approximately 500 grammes of cocaine and 15,000 euros in cash, which was in banknotes typical of drug trafficking, were found and seized.
Police filed charges against both men under the Narcotics Act. The arrested men were subsequently transferred to a correctional facility. The authorities also announced they would request pre-trial detention for the men.
