For her partner, all help came too late: he died at the scene in his bed.
The cause of the fire was initially unclear. However, during the investigation, accelerants were found, which pointed to possible arson. The public prosecutor opened a judicial investigation.
That investigation led to the arrest of the woman. She was apprehended shortly after the incident and questioned, after which she appeared before the examining magistrate. The magistrate decided to remand her in custody on suspicion of murder. The indictment chamber must rule next Tuesday on whether the remand is extended. The investigation is meanwhile continuing.
