A man born in 2001 was apprehended in Charleroi last week in connection with the case relating to the deaths of Bryan and Thyméo Brigou, whose bodies were found on 24 and 25 August respectively at Onhaye. This is according to rtbf.be, citing a communication from the Namur prosecutor's office released Monday afternoon.
According to the prosecutor's office, this man allegedly sold drugs to Bryan Brigou a few hours before the latter's disappearance on 27 June. An arrest warrant was issued against him for drug trafficking, with the aggravating circumstance that the offence resulted in death — which suggests that Bryan Brigou died of an overdose.
Toxicological analyses had already established the presence of toxic substances in Bryan Brigou's body. This arrest represents a notable development in an investigation that had until now remained without an identified suspect.
The two main lines of enquiry — murder or suicide — remain nevertheless still open, the prosecutor's office clarified. The Namur institution refused to provide any further comment on this matter.
