According to sudinfo.be, a brawl involving three individuals broke out on Saturday around 22:45, apparently in a swingers bar. One of the protagonists received a blow to the face and collapsed. Emergency services transported him to hospital in a state of brain death. He ultimately died on Tuesday.

The two other people involved were deprived of liberty around 23:30, according to the Namur public prosecutor's office. During questioning, one of them, born in 1989, admitted to striking the victim in the face, citing a reflex of self-defence. He was charged on Sunday with assault and battery resulting in permanent disability, then released on conditions. The second person detained was released.

The investigation is continuing to determine the exact circumstances of the events.
