A 28-year-old woman was found dead on Friday evening in a dwelling on rue Major Housiau in Montigny-le-Tilleul, according to dhnet.be. Local police and emergency services intervened at the scene, and the Charleroi prosecutor's office carried out a judicial investigation. The death has been classified as suspicious.

The victim's partner, aged 31, was deprived of liberty before appearing on Sunday before the investigating judge. The judge decided to place him under electronic surveillance at his parents' home.

During his questioning, the suspect stated that he "had left for work early and discovered the victim's body upon returning home", according to the Charleroi prosecutor's office.

An autopsy of the body was carried out. In agreement with the investigating judge, the prosecutor's office refused to make any comment on the charges retained or on the autopsy conclusions.
