Two arrests for drug trafficking in the heart of Liège

On Tuesday, Liège law enforcement carried out two separate arrests as part of their relentless campaign against drug dealing in the city centre.

The first operation took place in mid-afternoon. Officers spotted a group of individuals with suspicious behaviour on Place du Marché. By discreetly following them to the Saint-Léonard esplanade, police witnessed a transaction. The suspect was immediately arrested and admitted to dealing cocaine. At his arrest, he was in possession of 160 euros in notes.

The second operation took place later, also on Place du Marché. Another man was found in possession of 31 small cocaine pellets. Unlike the first suspect, he denies any resale activity and claims the substance was for personal use only. He was brought before the prosecutor on Wednesday morning.
