On Saturday 20 June, law enforcement from the Borinage police zone organised a major control operation on Rue de Dour in Frameries. This initiative was part of the "Alcohol-free Weekend" campaign. During this operation, 95 vehicles and 108 individuals were subject to verification.
The breath tests revealed that twelve people behind the wheel had consumed alcohol. The measures taken varied depending on the case: eight licences were temporarily withdrawn for three hours, two for six hours, and two motorists had their driving rights suspended for fifteen days. One of them recorded a blood alcohol level of approximately two grammes per litre.
Other offences were identified during the same action. Two vehicles were confiscated due to lack of insurance, a third was immobilised following non-compliance with licence conditions, and four were towed away. Officers also identified an individual subject to two arrest warrants, each carrying a sentence of twelve months in detention.
In the evening, around 21:15, a patrol unit on Rue Alfred Defuisseaux spotted a vehicle flagged in police files. The woman at the wheel showed signs consistent with drug use, which a saliva test confirmed. Quantities of cocaine were found in her possession. The duty magistrate ordered the confiscation of the vehicle and substances, as well as the detention of the suspect.
