Three occupants arrested after police stop in Antwerp: nitrous oxide, cannabis and cash found

On Sunday afternoon, a routine check in the Kiel district in Antwerp resulted in the arrest of three people. Officers from the local police zone wanted to address a traffic violation involving a vehicle that was parked illegally. When they approached, the driver attempted to drive away to escape. This is reported by Het Nieuwsblad.

Upon closer inspection, officers discovered several large cylinders containing dinitrogen monoxide in the car, as well as balloons used for inhaling this gas. The behaviour of the three people present was remarkable. They were very talkative and attempted to downplay the use of nitrous oxide. Moreover, they stated loudly that they preferred this substance to cannabis. One of the passengers even went so far as to accuse the police officers present of various wrongdoings.

Based on these findings, the officers decided to carry out a thorough search of the vehicle and frisk those present. In the process, six cylinders of nitrous oxide, several mobile phones, a quantity of cannabis and approximately one thousand euros in cash were discovered. All of these items were seized by the police.

The three suspects were taken to the police station for questioning. Following the interviews, they were released.
