Rune R. (22) from Opwijk failed to appear before the Brussels court of appeal, to the irritation of prosecutors and judges. The court called him a danger to society.
Brussels appeal hearing without the accused: "He remains a danger"
Rune R. (22) from Opwijk, known for radical statements online, also failed to attend his appeal hearing. HLN reports. Like in the original proceedings, the young man did not appear before the Brussels courthouse, to the visible irritation of both the prosecution and the court.
On social media, R. did not shy away from strong words: mass murderer Anders Breivik was glorified by him and calls for violence against Jews and Muslims followed one another. In reality, however, he appears to avoid what he sought online.
His absence now threatens to be costly. The court expressed itself sharply: "To this day I still know very little about Mr R. Therefore, he remains a danger to society for me."
