The prosecution has sought an eight-year prison sentence against a 39-year-old father accused of sexual abuse of his daughter, which began when she was ten years old. Artificial intelligence prompted the child to go to the police station.

A man in his forties was appearing in court for sexual assaults committed against his own daughter. The first acts of violence reportedly date from when the child was only ten years old. In January of this year, the young victim presented herself at the police station to report her father. Officers sent to the scene found him watching pornographic content.
Seven charges are pending against him, the most serious being rape by fellatio that occurred between the end of June 2023 and mid-January 2026. The defendant admits to most of the facts, but denies possession of child sexual abuse material. He attributes his actions to excessive consumption of alcohol, cannabis and amphetamines.
According to the child's testimony, her father had begun with touching her chest before forcing her to perform oral sex. He terrified her by promising her placement in an institution if she reported the facts, threatened to commit suicide and to kill her dog. An orphan of her mother following the couple's separation, the girl had confided in her pet, which had become her second confidant. The first was an artificial intelligence programme, which had suggested she go and file a complaint.
The lawyer of the ad hoc guardian, Marko Obradovic, intervened as a civil party and claimed 25,000 euros in damages for harm he judged nearly impossible to quantify. The Youth Protection Service was contacted, heard the father and child separately, and is awaiting the criminal verdict before deciding.
The public prosecution sought eight years of imprisonment. Me Pierre Deutsch, counsel for the defendant, deemed this request disproportionate. He pleaded for a sentence of five years with suspension, allowing for therapeutic care, job search and substance withdrawal. According to him, his client had been "at once and successively the best and worst of fathers".
