A police patrol conducted on Tuesday in Jemeppe town centre resulted in the seizure of over 1.5 kilogrammes of drugs and the arrest of three people in a vehicle.

On Tuesday 8 July, a team from the local police zone was conducting a patrol in Jemeppe town centre as part of operations aimed at strengthening the presence of law enforcement on public roads. This routine patrol escalated into a significant seizure of illicit substances.
Officers intercepted a car carrying three passengers. Upon approaching the vehicle, they detected a characteristic odour emanating from inside. The three occupants were immediately taken into custody.
Inspection of the vehicle and the individuals revealed 754 grammes of cannabis and 94 grammes of resin. Investigators then carried out searches at the suspects' homes. These searches uncovered a further 600 grammes of cannabis, 60 grammes of resin, several bottles containing PTC as well as a quantity of cash.
In total, officers seized over 1.4 kilogrammes of cannabis, 154 grammes of cannabis resin, several doses of PTC and banknotes. The exact amount of the sum seized was not specified.
The local police zone emphasised that this case demonstrates the usefulness of visibility patrols regularly conducted in the field. It reaffirmed that the protection of citizens constitutes one of the main priorities of its daily work.
