A 21-year-old man has been placed under electronic supervision after his vehicle was stopped during an alcohol check in Wiekevorst. The car had been flagged in connection with ongoing judicial investigations.

Police officers from Heist police zone intercepted a vehicle in Wiekevorst on Saturday night that had been on the radar due to judicial files. The stop took place as part of a large-scale Wodca operation involving various teams working together.
Thanks to swift communication between traffic officers and intervention teams, the vehicle was spotted and stopped during the check. When searching the car, officers found a quantity of soft drugs and a substantial sum of three thousand euros in cash.
The four people in the vehicle were taken to the police station for questioning. Following the interviews, three passengers were released from the station. The driver, a man of twenty-one, had to answer to an investigating judge.
The judge decided to detain the young man and place an electronic ankle band on him. The further investigation is being conducted by the local criminal investigation department under the supervision of the magistrate.
