A woman stopped for drink-driving in Lasne fled and collided with a back-up police car, injuring two officers.

On 3 February 2024, police officers from the Mazerine zone were carrying out an alcohol check in Lasne. The intervention required back-up. Two additional officers arrived and positioned their car across the road to block any escape route.
The individual checked, Joséphine T., was notified of a fifteen-day driving licence suspension. Despite this, she suddenly restarted her vehicle. Shortly after, she collided with the back-up officers' vehicle. The two officers inside were injured: one had to take two days off, the other twenty days.
On 17 October 2025, the Nivelles public prosecutor's office sought the minimum penalty for rebellion with a weapon, considering the car as a weapon. This offence carries a sentence of three years' imprisonment. The court was nevertheless lenient, reclassifying the facts as involuntary bodily harm. The defendant, already punished twice for drink-driving, was sentenced to one year's imprisonment with a suspended sentence and 400 euros' fine.
At the hearing on 29 May, the defendant lodged an opposition. She stated: "In a normal state, I would never have acted like this." The court reduced the charge to involuntary blows through lack of care, imposing one month's imprisonment with a suspended sentence and 400 euros' fine, owing to a previous conviction for the same acts by the Wavre police court.
