Cannabis hidden in water bottle: 20-year-old from Liège suspected of dealing
DHnet reports that the incident occurred on Thursday 3 September on rue des Steppes in Liège, around 5 p.m. Officers from the Liège police zone noticed a motorist driving very slowly with a mobile phone in hand. They decided to conduct a traffic stop.
A search of the vehicle revealed a surprise: Noah, 20 years old, was in possession of 45 packets representing 160 grammes of cannabis in total, hidden beneath the seats, in the boot and inside a water bottle. The young man also had 295 euros in cash on him.
During questioning, the suspect denied any drug trafficking offences and claimed that the drugs were intended for his personal consumption. These explanations did not convince the magistrate in charge of the case. Without employment, Noah struggled to justify the source of the cash found on him. He also refused to allow his mobile phone to be analysed.
The case has been referred for investigation.
